Herbert “Herb” Collier Searcy, 83, a life-long native of Jacksonville, FL passed from this life on Monday, 3/29/2021 at the Anne & Donald McGraw Center for Caring following a brief illness. Herb was born to Francis & Fannie Searcy on 9/21/1937. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Francis Durham Searcy. Herb graduated from Andrew Jackson, where he was Captain of the Swim Team. He served in the Air National Guard as a member of the 125 th Fighter Group and was also a past Master for the Wm. B. Barnett Masonic Lodge #187. Herb worked for Bethlehem Steel for almost 20 years. He will be remembered as a kind, loving husband and father who enjoyed the outdoors. His true passion was fishing of any kind. Herb is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janet Scotten Searcy and his children Mike Searcy (Jacksonville) and Kris Searcy (Alpharetta, GA). He is also survived by his niece, Lisa Bradley (Interlachen) and nephew, Todd Searcy (Interlachen).
A casual memorial luncheon to honor Herb’s life will be held on Saturday, April 10 th at the Morocco Shrine Activity Center (in the back) at 3800 St. Johns Bluff Rd S. Jacksonville, FL 32224 from 12Noon – 4pm.
