Mrs. Helen Davidson Tanner, age 96 of Jacksonville, FL passed away peacefully on July 7, 2021 and was under the care of Community Hospice to whom her family is extremely grateful for their compassionate care. Her family is also thankful to the staff at Brooks Greenhouse where Helen was a resident and loved like a family member for the last few years.
Helen was born on April 8th, 1925 in Wilson, NC., the daughter of Juniors Troy Creech and Bessie Jane Mattox, in addition to her parents Helen was predeceased by her loving husband Albert Lee Tanner, her grandson Ronald Ray Marvin Jr. (Bo), her brother and sister, and many other family members.
Helen will be remembered for her love and devotion to her husband during his illness as she spent days and nights by his side for several years until he passed April 1, 2020. She also loved dancing and taking dancing classes with her husband Al and many trips to Biloxi, MS with him and her friends. She enjoyed shopping almost daily and dining out with her many girlfriends.
She was a member of Lake Shore Family Fellowship for 46 years where she attended church faithfully every Sunday.
She retired from civil service where she was a Navy buyer and then continued to work as a Navy Buyer for a couple of companies up until the age of 90.
Helen is survived by her loving daughter Christina Marvin, son in law Ronnie Marvin and grandson Bryant Marvin.
A Memorial Service will be held at Lake Shore Family Fellowship located at 2246 Blanding Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32210, this Saturday July 17th at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lake Shore Family Fellowship or Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.
