GRACE REDMOND DuPREE, 90, passed on October 26, 2018 after a brief illness. Born Lilla Grace Redmond in Macon, Georgia. Graduated from Arlington High School in Arlington, Georgia. Received B.A. in journalism from the University of Georgia, where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Married Robert F. "Bob" DuPree of Jacksonville, Florida, where they ultimately settled, and were founding members of the Mandarin Presbyterian Church, at which she volunteered. Educational Director of the Educational Research Program until her retirement. Donated her time to the Players Championship. Was passionate about gardening.
She is survived by her daughter Michelle D. DuPree, her son Robert F. DuPree, Jr. (Heidi Schichl), grandson Jonathan R. DuPree (Cyndi Morel), granddaughter Monica G. DuPree (Spencer Smith), grandson Jacob E.H. "Jake" DuPree, great-grandson Jackson S. Smith, sister-in-law Joyce Taylor Redmond, nephew R. Edward "Ed" Redmond (Patty Talton), niece Renee Redmond Strawn (Steve), nephew S. Vinson "Vin" Bowden, niece Kimberley "Kim" Bowden Gager (Howard), niece Cheryl Bowden Barfield (Jim), niece Leslie Bowden Shaw (Fred), nephew Richard O. Hardage, Jr. (Rebecca), niece Mary Hardage Archuleta (Pat), and nephew Lee G. Hardage (Kathyleen). She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, sister Lurene "Lu" Redmond Jackson, her brother Edward E. "Brother" Redmond, her father George E. "Ed" Redmond, Jr., and her mother Lilla Moore Redmond.
She requested that there be no formal service. There will be a celebration of life when the family is free to gather, friends welcome. Contact family for details. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to local hospice organizations.
