Francis Warner LiPira, 72, of St. Johns, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 28 th 2022, surrounded by his loving wife of 50 years and devoted children.

Fran was born in Towson, Maryland where he attended Calvert Hall College.  After graduating, he continued his studies at La Salle University and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics.  He went on to work in the field of computer science and enjoyed a thirty plus year career at CSX Transportation where he was well loved and respected.

Fran retired in 2010 and enjoyed reading, golf, poker, spending time with his children and granddaughters, and traveling the world with his wife Debbie.  He was a devoted Catholic and counted many members of the San Juan Del Rio Parrish among his closest friends.

Fran was predeceased by his father Dr. Joseph LiPira and mother Mary Ellen LiPira (Sirman.) He is survived by his wife and soulmate Mary Deborah LiPira (Schultz), son Jeffrey F LiPira and wife Kyleigh, daughter Sheryl M Chaves (LiPira) and husband Berto, and son Dennis C LiPira and wife Chelsea.   He was Pappy to granddaughters Emily, Aubrey, Luci, Carli, Sophia and Lacey.   He was brother to Joey (deceased), Connie, Mary, Jimmy, Johnny, Mark, Linda, Donna, and Joellen.  Fran also had a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Memorial Mass and Internment will be held on Saturday, December 10 th at 11am at San Juan Del Rio Catholic Church, 1718 State Road 13 St. Johns, Florida 32259.  In lieu of flowers the family requests any donations be made to the LUNGevity Foundation at www.lungevity.org.
