Frances Bowman Fletcher, 74, of Jacksonville, FL passed peacefully at home on Saturday, March 9, 2024. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter and friend. Frances was a friendly and cheerful soul to those around her. She was known as a wonderful cook, creative thinker and crafty personality. Frances grew up in Quincy, FL and was of Baptist faith. She worked for the Federal Government, retiring from the USDA in 2009. In her free time, and after retirement she enjoyed spending time with her loving grandchildren and great granddaughter, fishing, traveling, spending time with other family, reading books, and watching movies. She had spent the last few years of her life living with and being cared for by her youngest daughter in Jacksonville, FL.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents Henry Columbus Bowman and Jamie Brandon Bowman, her brother Henry Bowman, father of her children Franklin Dexter Fletcher, and son-in-law James Arwood.
She is survived by her 4 siblings, Edward (Lucy) Bowman of Tallahassee, FL, Connie (Scriven) Griffiss of Tallahassee, FL, Nancy Stewart of Pensacola, FL, and Alice (Charles) Woodward of Molino, FL; Her loving partner, Rick Bietenholtz of Quincy, FL, 3 Children, Franklin D. (Carrie) Fletcher, Jr. of Grand Ridge, FL, Shannon M. Arwood of Marianna, FL, and Kimberly (Mike) Somers of Jacksonville, FL; 6 Grandchildren, Donald, Delissa (Tim), Alec, Joshua (Alicia), Brandon (Hailey), and Emilee (Chaden). 6 Great-Grandchildren, Kylee, Magnus, Vaughn, Waylon, Gauge and Everett, along with many cousins, nephews, nieces, friends, and extended family.
