Douglas Galen Wright, 69, of St, Johns, Florida passed away June 2, 2022, after a long brave battle with cancer, born on August 5, 1952 in Baltimore Maryland. His parents Walter B.R. Wright and Katharine Wright moved to Florida when he was young. Doug graduated from Terry Parker High School.
He began his career as a salesman for Merck in 1974 and became one of the top salesmen in the country. He retired early from Merck as a result of an auto accident in the early 1980s. He opened his own corporation in 1989, Motor Vehicle Marketing, where he remained owner and operator until his passing. He also worked with county and state officials and several environmental groups to save Guana Wildlife Preserve, which generations will now be able to enjoy with their families.
He is preceded in death by both his parents, Walter and Katharine Wright, daughter Missy Wright-Castleman, son Brad Wright, sister Barbara Reichard-Osteen and two brothers Robert Wright and Richard Wright.
He is survived by his wife Nancy Wright, two daughters, Angie Griggs (Bryan), Aimee Gombert (Paul), five grandchildren, DJ Castleman (Jessica), Christopher Castleman (Lauren), Kaitlyn Griggs, Preston Gombert and Addison Gombert, one great grandchild Wyatt Castleman, two sisters Cheryl Conklin (Dave), Carol Wright-Motes (Judy) and two brothers Walter Wright and Roger Wright (DeDe).
Doug was a family man. He loved boating, fishing, Marineland, The Smoky Mountains and spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by all.
