Donald Richard Bell, Sr.

Donald Richard Bell Sr. transitioned into the presence of Jesus on Tuesday, July 9,
2024 at the HCA Orange Park Hospital in Orange Park, Florida. He fought a good fight
with an extended illness but gained his eternal reward. Donald Richard Bell Sr. was
born to James and Grace Bell on October 29,1955 in Jacksonville, Florida.

Donald “Don” was an affectionate, dedicated, and hardworking man who always put
the needs of others ahead of his own. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan who
enjoyed cheering on the Dawgs. Don had a love for music with a gift in playing the
guitar and singing. He enjoyed southern cooking especially fried chicken and his
momma’s cornbread dressing. Don also enjoyed a good game of golf.

Don answered the call of God on his life to ministry. He served for many years in
different capacities within ministry which included: Youth Pastor in Brunswick,
Georgia; Executive Director at Teen Challenge in Muskegon, Michigan; Reverend at
Lighthouse Assembly of God in Homerville, Georgia; and a Christian Radio Host at
WBTY-fm Radio Station in Homerville, Ga.

Don was able to carry the legacy of his father in the electrical motor business. He was
well-known in the electrical motor industry for over 30 years for his knowledge and
expertise in the field. He trained many individuals over the years and lead many
projects. Don had the privilege to travel the world in this career and met many friends.
Don is proceeded in death by his father, James Henry Bell; mother, Grace Geraldine
Bell: brothers, James Hubert Bell and Jerry Henry Bell.

He is survived by his life long friend and loving mother of their children, Roxanne Bell of
Lake City, FL; son, Donald (Janessa) Bell Jr. of Ft. Worth, TX; daughter, Wendy (James
Sr.) Smith of Macclenny, FL; daughter, Andrea (Ken) Neff of Rapid City, SD; son, Joshua
Bell of Lake City, FL; daughter, Natalie Bell of Lake City, FL; sister, Peggy (George)
McManus of Salt Springs, FL; sister, Patricia “Pat” (Roy) Swain of Brunswick, GA;
sister, Barbara Forehand of Blackshear, GA; twelve grandchildren, seven great
grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Donald Bell
Sr. that will be held at Souls Harbor Church of God located at 7955 US-90 in Glen St.
Mary, FL on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at 2:00pm. Memorial Service will be officiated
by Pastor Collin Roberts. The family is wearing the colors of the Georgia Bulldogs
(black/red) to honor their dad/papa; you are welcome to join the family with wearing
Don’s favorite colors.
