Born on November 12, 1933, in Louisville Kentucky, his journey began as it ended, fighting the good fight and never allowing disadvantages or significant challenges to stop him from achieving success.
He was built with a strong will to aid in his journey through this life that tremendously aided the success as he went. From a young age in Louisville Kentucky to his final days in Green Cove Springs Florida he worked tirelessly and fought tirelessly to make his life a fulfilling and successful one.
There was never a cruise he would not take. There was never a poker game he would pass up.
If there was a casino along the way, he would find the way in. A bowl of Spicy Chile or a Plate of Barbecue always got his undivided attention. Even as his failing health began to take its toll, he kept his perspective and continued to live his life to the fullest possible.
He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged. He soon thereafter went to work for the L&N Railroad in Louisville Kentucky. Working his way up through the merger with the Seaboard Coastline Railroad and finally landing in Jacksonville Florida working for the CSX Corporation where he retired as an Assistant Vice President. While working his way through his career and raising a family he found time to go back to school and graduate from the University of Louisville with honors. He was a member of the PHI KAPPA PHI honor society, a member of the American Institute of Industrial Engineers and a Kentucky Colonel.
He will be remembered for his quick wit and extraordinary intellectual acumen.
However, of all of his accomplishments he had his greatest accomplishment was as a father who was always there for his children as well as those close to him.
The wisdom he shared, the perspectives he provided and the lessons that he taught by his words and his actions will be forever remembered.
You will be missed.
We will bid you farewell for now and give our love to you, Dad!
Rest In Peace.
A memorial service will be held at a future date.
