David Bradford Nottingham, born on April 30, 1944 in Salisbury, MD, passed away on March 23, 2023, at the age of 78. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many.
David served his country for 20 years in the United States Air Force, retiring with the rank of First Sergeant. He was a veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. He received numerous awards and commendations for his service.
Following his retirement from the Air Force, David owned and managed a furniture store in Augusta, GA. Upon his retirement from the furniture business he moved back to his hometown of Ocean City, MD for several years finally settling down in Jacksonville, FL. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, thrifting, and playing poker.
David is survived by his three children, Lynn Nottingham, Robert Nottingham, and Julie Ward (Scott). He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren Shanae Hailey (Richard), Jessica Stevens (Chad), David Murray (Amy), Rachel Ward, Ryan Ward, and John Ward, who he loved spending time with. He was also a proud great grandpa to Karson, Ira, Sophie, Elena, and Millie. David had a large extended family that he loved very much including Lin Tang, Jacqueline Van Dyke (Jake), Christina Mayo, Patricia Nottingham, and Jeffrey Nottingham (Heather). David will be greatly missed by his family and friends, who will always remember him as a kind, generous, and loving person.
He is preceded in death by his mother Beatrice Bradford Nottingham, father John Thomas Nottingham, son David Bradford Nottingham, Jr., adoptive son Kuo- Ping Tang, and older brother Darrell Thomas Nottingham.
A memorial service for David will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in honor of David's service and dedication to his country.
