Dave A Newman

David Carl Newman, age 65, died after a courageous and hard fought battle at the Community Hospice and Palliative Care, in Jacksonville, FL on May 2, 2018

Dave is survived by his wife, Marilyn S. Newman; brother, Eric Newman; son, Eli Newman; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Newman; stepson to whom Dave regarded as a son, Aaron Imeson; daughter-in-law, Amanda Imeson; and his two grandchildren who brought him so much joy and happiness, Ainsley and Archer Imeson. Dave was predeceased by his wife of 27 years Sherry Ellen Newman DOD 12-05-04 Dave was also a loving fur father to his Maine Coon cat, Hemmingway, and his two energetic Golden Retrievers, Piper and Cameo.

Dave was born in Englewood, NJ on April 17, 1953 to Nathan and Phyllis Newman. He graduated with an MBA from Rutgers University. Dave later moved to Jacksonville, FL and worked as a Data Architect for Kemper Corporation. On July 17, 2008, he married his wife, Marilyn whom he admired and adored.

Dave was a devout New York Yankees fan and could regularly be seen wearing his favorite team t-shirt. If you were lucky enough to engage in conversation, you could almost guarantee sports would be involved. His sense of humor was dry and perfectly timed. Dave and Marilyn enjoyed spending time with friends and family, trivia nights, jeopardy, live music, the theater, and traveling the world together. Dave will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Shiva service will be held Friday, May, 4, 2018 at 2:00pm at the family home A Celebration of Life will follow on Friday, May 18, 2018 at the family home beginning at 2:00.

The family requests donations be made to the American Brain Tumor Association or the Hadlow Community Hospice in lieu of flowers.
