Constance Ruth Ricketts

Constance (Connie) Ruth Ricketts peacefully passed away January 5, 2025, in Jacksonville, FL, at the age of 76, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on January 27,1948 in Norristown, Pennsylvania to her parents, Thomas and Gladys Catanese. She grew up in Jacksonville, Florida where she graduated from Englewood High School. She went on to Nursing School in New Orleans graduating from Charity Hospital School of Nursing.

Connie moved back to Jacksonville, Florida where she worked as a Recovery Nurse, and Triage Nurse at St. Vincent’s Hospital. She met and married her loving husband, Milton Ricketts on January 5, 1979, and lived most of her life in Jacksonville, raising her two children, and loving her grandchildren.

Later, in retirement, she moved to the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee (Newport) where she spent nearly 10 years building a dream home with her husband Milton. She loved working in her English garden, hosting tea parties, crafting, and fellowshipping with her friends in the church community.

Connie will be remembered for her devotion to the Christian faith where she was a faithful servant of the Lord. She was passionate about sharing her faith with others and was an ardent supporter of soul-winning ministries, locally and abroad.

Connie is preceded in death by Gladys and Thomas Catanese. She is survived by her husband Milton Ricketts, her two children: Jennifer Robinson (Chris) and Wesley Ricketts (Manuella), and her two sisters, Andrea Barr, Bonnie Gifford, and her brother, Thomas “Tommy” Catanese Jr.  Connie’s legacy lives on through her four grandchildren, Emily Robinson, Lindsay Robinson, Jeremy Ricketts, and Mia Ricketts.

A service in celebration of Connie’s life will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 3 p.m. Pastor Bob Hoover of Vineyard Christian Fellowship will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to one of Connie’s favorite charities in her honor: Food for the Poor, Samaritan’s Purse, Campus Crusade, or Maoz Israel.
