Christopher Michael Chorba, 54, Jacksonville, FL passed away January 3, 2019. He was born February 27, 1964 in Peckville, PA to Joan Miller Boezi, Dunmore, PA and the late Richard F. Chorba, Eynon, PA. A 1982 graduate of Lakeland High School, he was fondly known as “Chumley” to his buddies. Chris served 20 years (1982-2003) in the United States Air Force as an Aerospace Jet Engine Mechanic, retiring as Aircraft Crew Chief. He was employed by FRCSE Naval Air Station, Jacksonville.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting and will be remembered for conversations combined with his infectious laugh.
He is survived in addition to his mother, Joan, and his companion, Gloria Lee Holmes, her children and grandchildren; a daughter Lindsay, Apollo Beach, FL; a son, Josh, (Mary Thomas), grandson, Jayden all of Jermyn, PA; a sister, Janine Croop, Justus, PA, Bunny Chorba, stepmom, and brothers Jaime Chorba, Archbald, PA, and Jonathan Chorba, Arlington, TX, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Merle ‘Pop’ and Marion Miller and paternal grandparents, Frank and Sofie Chorba, and stepfather, Angelo Boezi.
Services and internment will be private at the convenience of the family.
