Lt. Col. Charles “Chuck” Stanett (Ret. USAF), age 74, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2020. He was born to Charles R. Stanett & Anna Zamule on March 30, 1946 in Pittsburgh, PA. Chuck graduated from North Catholic High School in 1964 and Duquesne University in 1969. He served during the Vietnam war and retired in 1993 from the USAF Reserves after 20 years at the rank of Lt. Colonel. He enjoyed reading, fishing, gardening & yard work, grilling outdoors and spending time with his family & puppies.
Chuck is preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara Stanett who passed on October 4, 2016. He is survived by his sisters, Trish Bresnahan & her husband Michael and Charlotte Kozak & her husband Peter; daughter, Rachael McGuire & her fiancé Kris Kukic; step-son, Paul Bednar Jr. & his wife Alicia Austin; step-daughter, Jill Johnson & her husband Josh Johnson and his grandchildren, Christopher & Matthew Bednar, Oliver Austin, Danielle & Michelle McGuire and Lauren & Emily Councilor.
He will be remembered for being a well-respected military leader and loving husband, having a witty sense of humor and always treating other people with dignity and respect.
A graveside will be held at the Jacksonville National Cemetery on September 17, 2020 at 10:00am
