On Sunday, March 2, 2025, Carol Lea (Carley) Rachele peacefully departed this world to join our heavenly Father. Born December 21, 1932, in West Springfield, MA to Armando Rachele and Jean Bettigole, Carley moved to Southern California at the age of 17. Throughout her life, Carley also called New Jersey and California home before eventually retiring to Florida at the young age of 55.
Carley led a rich and fulfilling life, never knew a stranger, and loved her family and friends deeply. As a trailblazer in her profession, Carley served as a human resources manager and even appeared on 60 Minutes for her groundbreaking work. Later in her career, she enjoyed teaching, writing and training other executives on how to become not just better professionals, but better managers and people. As much of her training materials continued to be utilized for many years after she retired, her wisdom and insights left an enduring legacy.
An avid reader, she delighted in discussing politics and world events. She was a lifelong learner, always up for a spontaneous adventure, and had numerous interests including painting, sculpting, anything outdoors, and hunting for antiques. Her faith and belief in the goodness of humanity provided her with enduring strength.
Carley’s warmth, wisdom, and boundless love will be forever missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her cherished mother, father, stepfather William Bettigole, and brother David Rachele. Her memory lives in the hearts of her beloved daughter, Betsy Keating; her devoted sister, Ann Smith; her sister-in-law, Sharon Rachele; and her treasured nieces: Nancy Schlecht, Patti Minutello, Linda Rachele, Krista Shea, Suzanne Rachele Gallardo; nephews Warren Rachele, David Smith; and their families.
In honor of Carley’s generous spirit, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation , St. Jude Children’s Hospital , Lutheran Charities , Hope Community Church , or your local humane society.
Carley’s legacy is one of love, compassion, and an unyielding zest for life. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory bring comfort and inspiration to all who were blessed to know her.
