Carol H. Lewis (Schneider), 70 of Jacksonville, FL, passed away peacefully at home on May 1, 2019. She was born December 2, 1948 to John and Orma M Schneider of West Seneca, NY. She graduated from West Seneca High School and attended Bryant and Stratton College. Carol was employed by Arcata Graphics and then began a 41-year career on the railroad, before retiring from CSX in 2008.

Carol married Charles A. Lewis, Jr in Buffalo, NY on April 13, 1975 and they enjoyed 44 wonderful, glorious years together. She was a member of the Bartram Trail Newcomers’ and Women’s Club, enjoyed Jazzercise, and playing Mahjong, Canasta (pennies) and other card games. She will be remembered for her lifelong love of music, helping others, and loving life and her dogs.

Carol was preceded in death by her mother, father and sister, Mary Ann.

She is survived by her husband, Charles, their son, Timothy (Wendy) Lewis of Egg Harbor Twp., NJ, her stepdaughter, Holly (Duane) Surels of Peoria, IL, and stepson, Scott (Rachel) Lewis of Tampa, FL; sisters Louise Gartner of West Seneca, NY, and Judy Spencer of Cheektowaga, NY; in-laws Doug (Liz) Lewis of Elmira, NY, Edith (Joe) Molle of Hamburg, NY and Jeff (Mary Beth) Lewis of Lakeview, NY; her grandchildren, Devin and Claire Lewis, Max and Madison Friedrichsen, Krystal and Isiah Surels, Marissa Dash, Jeremiah, Brianna, Caleb and Abigail Lewis; and 13 Nieces and Nephews and their families and her dog Maggie.

There will not be any funeral services, but a celebration of her life will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Carol’s honor.
