Bruce Wayne Ribera, 74, born in Middletown Connecticut September 1 st , 1948, passed away December 23 rd 2022 at the Douglas Center / Baptist Heart Hospital Jacksonville Florida. Bruce was pre-deceased by father Angelo R. Ribera and mother Vilma M. (Bandecchi) Ribera of Meriden CT and son Angelo R. Ribera of Barre VT. He is survived by his siblings Paul Ribera, April (Ribera) Abbatello and Keith Ribera, his son Jason (Jay) Ribera and wife Amy Ribera and his 4 grandchildren, Kaitlyn Ribera, Colton Ribera, Kenzie Ribera & Laini Ribera.
Bruce graduated from Lyman Hall High School in Wallingford Connecticut marrying his long time high school sweetheart Heather Anderson, the mother of his two boys, while entering the U.S. Air Force after graduation. He soon became a roofing contractor in Connecticut after fulfilling his time with the Air Force and worked in Connecticut for a number of years then moving to the west coast of Florida where he had remarried to Johanna Maynadier. Upon separation in marriage, Bruce moved to the east coast of Florida and became a long-time project manager in the cellular phone tower and antenna industry in southern Florida and into his retirement years with his most recent partner of seventeen years Anne Kappus of Oakland Park Florida moving to Jacksonville Florida where his journey here with us has sadly come to an end.
To know him was to love him. To know him was to always have a drink or smoke, an interesting or unbelievable story, make or share a memory, a laugh (or many), he was a true “brother” to so many, a Patriot, veteran, companion, true great friend and an amazing and “unique” father. His smile will always be seen, voice and laugh always heard and he will forever be the one you can talk to because he’s always with you in spirit as he was in life. He was and always will be the Calico, Pookey, Brewski and Brucey Baby.
