It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Bradley R. Stanton, 51, beloved husband, father, brother, and son. He joined the Lord on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Baptist Medical Center South in Jacksonville, Florida surrounded by his family. He was born on March 25, 1971, in Atlanta, Georgia to Gayle Reese Stanton and the late David Richard Stanton.
In his early years Brad lived in Atlanta and Alpharetta, Georgia and attended Milton High School. He later moved to Deltona, Florida where he completed his high school education at Deltona High School. He played percussion in the concert and marching bands. After high school he pursued a career in the culinary arts, working and managing several fine dining establishments. At the age of 23 he relocated to Jacksonville where his father asked him to join him in the family business, Baler Services of Florida, Inc. When Brad’s father passed away in 1999, he became President of the company and has continued running the business successfully until recently.
His many passions included being outdoors, camping, boating, canoeing, bicycling, raising bees, traveling, scouting, building boats, attending his children’s band concerts and sporting events, and spending time with his family. He raced dirt bikes starting at age eight and raised his sons to do the same. He enjoyed being a member of the American Motorcyclist Association, Florida Trail Riders, and the River City Dirt Riders.
He will be missed by his loving wife of 23 years, Julie G. Stanton: children, Andrew (Paige) Stanton of Jacksonville, Adam Stanton, Christopher Stanton of St. Johns; three grandchildren, Hatter, Piper, Zoë, of Jacksonville; mother, Gayle Reese Stanton; brother, Zachary Stanton of Lawrenceville, Georgia; in-laws, Dale and Evelyn Blackwell, Jacksonville, as well as numerous extended family members and friends. Brad was predeceased by his father, David R. Stanton in 1999 at the same age of 51.
Brad was a devoted hands-on father, loving husband, and one of the best. He is leaving an amazing legacy of loving life and truly living it to its fullest. Brads’ warm kindness, quirky and mischievous sense of humor, and boundless analytical curiosity will be missed by all who knew him.
Tremendous heartfelt gratitude goes out to all the doctors, nurses, and caregivers who assisted in his care at the Baptist Medical Center South, and to our great neighbors and loving friends. All of them played an enormously important role and we are forever grateful.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Mandarin Presbyterian Church, 2501 Loretto Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32223 with Reverend Jeff Arnold officiating.
