Beverly Jean Porcase, a beloved woman known for her vibrant spirit and unwavering love for family, passed away on Sunday, January 21st, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on March 21st, 1935, to Joseph and Lucile Anderson in Des Moines, IA, Beverly's life journey was marked by joy, resilience, and a profound connection with those around her.

Beverly embarked on her journey through life with a dedication to family. After graduating from high school, she married Joseph Dunham, and their union welcomed their son, Steven, into the world. Throughout her life, Beverly found love in her marriages to Joseph Dunham, Donald Creger, Dean Short, and Frederic Porcase.

Her diverse interests and talents showcased the vibrant tapestry of her personality. Beverly was not only an accomplished teacher of music but also an avid dancer and roller skater in her early years. Her creative pursuits extended to crochet, ceramics, and gardening, reflecting a passion for both artistic expression and nurturing life.

Beverly will be fondly remembered for her boundless love for her family and pets. Her impeccable style and interior decorating skills added a touch of elegance to every aspect of her life. A fervent shopper, Beverly found joy in the simple pleasures and shared that joy generously with those around her.

Preceded in death by her husband Frederic Porcase, former husband Joseph Dunham, sister Maxine (Russell) McDuff, brother Clyde (Francis) Anderson, and sister Virginia (Gene) Miller, Beverly leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth. She is survived by her son Steven (Linda) Short, stepdaughter Danielle (John) Higgins, and stepsons Frederic (Karla) Porcase and Michael (Heather) Porcase.

Beverly's memory lives on through her grandchildren: Christopher (Sarah) Short, Melissa (Mike) Knutson, Michael (Brandy) Short, Michele (Keith) Woltman, Michael (Jeanna) Higgins, Michelle Higgins, Patricia (Jason Shedlarski) Lutz, Sarah (Andrew) Kittrell, Holly Porcase, Francis (Brittany) Porcase, and her 22 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Beverly's life will take place on Friday, January 26th, 2024, at her home from 1-4 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be sent to the Jacksonville Humane Society , honoring Beverly's compassion for animals.
