Betty Lou Meyer, age 76, of Jacksonville passed away suddenly on May 2 nd , 2018 due to unexpected complications from pneumonia. Betty Lou is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Donald Meyer, her two daughters, Deborah Moore Carlisle (Steve) and Angela Moore Matthiessen (Britt), three grandchildren, John Stephen Carlisle (Stephanie), Jeremy Taylor Carlisle and Leah Marie Matthiessen. She was preceded in death by her son, John Carlton Moore and her parents.
Born to Leonora and Charles Troxler at Riverside Hospital on November 10, 1941, she later graduated from Landon High School, she went on to attend Florida State University, pledging Alpha Delta Pi. After FSU, she resided in Tallahassee and then lived in Atlanta for 25 years, before returning to Jacksonville 13 years ago. Above all things, Betty Lou cherished her role as loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren brought her so much joy and they knew an abiding and deep love from her. She intensely enjoyed gardening, travel and cooking. In the last ten years, Betty Lou came to love everything about football, college and professional, following every bit of as many games as possible.
A private Celebration of Life will be held in the near future. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tim Tebow Foundation ( https://www.timtebowfoundation.org/donate ), in honor of the respect and adoration she had for Tim Tebow.
