Barbara Parks Kirby

On Monday, May 10, 2021, Barbara Parks Kirby, loving wife, mother of three, and grandmother of one, passed away at the age of 60 in Jacksonville, FL.

Barbara was born September 21, 1960 in Smyth County, Virginia to Gray and Mary Parks.  She was married to her husband, Robert Kenneth Kirby, for 38 years.  They reared one son - Robert, two daughters - Savannah and Alison, and one grandson - Gray.

Barbara attended Grayson County Public Schools and practiced nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Grayson County and Galax, VA.  She also ran a local general store in downtown Galax with her husband.

Barbara was a collector of Longaberger baskets and Steiff bears, particularly the keychains.  Through this hobby, she forged lasting friendships with her fellow collectors.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Oak Grove Christian Church in Woodlawn, VA at 4 PM.
