Anthony G. "Pops" Macaluso, Sr.

April 18, 1939 — December 15, 2017

Anthony G. Macaluso Sr. Jacksonville, Florida. His family called him Pops but his friends knew him as Duke, he passed away suddenly on Friday, December 15, 2017 at the age of 78. Duke was born in Philadelphia, Pa and joined the Navy at the age of 17 so he could travel the world. He retired after 22 years of service and was a Vietnam Vet. He was transferred to Jacksonville where he retired in 1975. He was preceded in death by his parents Viola + Russell Macaluso, his estranged wife Joan, his sister Jeanette Clifton and brother Thomas Macaluso. He is survived by his brother Russell, sister Mary (Penny) Britt and younger brother Louis Macaluso. He is also survived by his children Debby (Duane), Joni, Tony (Michele), Damon (Deneene), Net (Troy). His grandchildren Sherri, April, Ryan, Amanda, Jaimee, Ashley, James (JD), Lesli, and Kristen. Plus, his 10 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and too many friends to mention. His love for his family, fishing, his overwhelming generosity, and amazing sense of humor made him loved by all and is already dearly missed.

Dukes wishes are to be cremated and laid to rest at sea with an intimate family gathering to follow in his home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in his name.
