Anna G. Louis

June 8, 1940 — October 1, 2023

In memory of Anna G Louis (Ann)

Anna G Louis (nee Beadore) was born to Mabel Alm and Clarence Beadore on June 8, 1940, in Indian River, New York State. She passed away at the age of 83 years on October 1, 2023.

Born and raised in Upstate New York, she raised her four children with former husband Edward Louis in Holland Patent, NY. She used her secretarial skills over many years working in the telephone, insurance, finance and senior care industries.

In the latter third of her life, she loved her home in Jacksonville, Florida, and lived independently, on her terms, until these last few months as her health declined.

Ann worked hard and earned the admiration and respect of those who knew her best. Her life experiences helped form her into a champion of the underdog, and she was well known to be your staunchest ally if she felt you needed her support in any way.

Among the activities Mom enjoyed, a few stand out:

She cooked and baked with a passion born of the necessity of feeding a family of six. Memories of home baked bread, apple pie from our own apple orchard, and savory dinners at holidays remain in our memories forever.

Music was a part of daily life in the Louis home.  Mom’s participation included singing her heart out to her favorite tunes on the radio, whether around the house doing various chores or driving the family station wagon with the AM radio turned up all the way. Favorite artists included Bobbie Gentry, Tom Jones, Neil Diamond, and her all-time favorite, Tina Turner.

Mom always had a puzzle book at hand, doing crosswords and word search games. She later discovered online Scrabble which she played daily with her daughter, Lisa. Visits with her grandchildren always included a “pajama party” night with board games played into the wee hours of the morning.

Even while retaining her spirit of a hard working person born of humble circumstances, Ann expanded her horizons and was able to see the world. Various places of note which she visited include: the American West Coast (San Francisco), the South (North and South Carolina), Arizona, Japan, Germany, and several countries in Western Europe.

Our Mom / Grandma / Aunt / great friend is remembered fondly by children Edward, Greg, Lisa, and Chris, and all those who knew her.

The family is forever indebted to Ann’s treasured friends Ronelle and Bobby who provided love and support that allowed her to live at home until her last few months.
