Alicia Castano Del Rosario

December 29, 1945 — November 12, 2024

Alicia Castano-Del Rosario, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, in Saint Johns, FL. Born on December 29, 1945, in Atimonan Quezon, Philippines. Alicia was the daughter of Joaquin Castano and Ciriaca Castano. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Del Rosario, parents, his sister Angelita Abiad and Erlinda Castano, and her brother Jaime Castano.

Alicia is survived by her daughter Edylicia Cabrera (Lou Jr), her grandchildren Lou Cabrera III and Katryna Cabrera, and her sisters, Aurora Barretto, Imelda Sales (Eric), and Elisa Soliterman (Ilya).

Alicia’s early years and half of her adult life was spent in the Philippines. She met the love of her life, Eddie, in high school in Atimonan Quezon. She graduated from Arellano University with a Bachelor in Education in Manila. She pursued a singing career and was in TV variety shows.

Alicia and her daughter, Edylicia, moved to North Carolina to join her husband in 1981. They moved to Southern California in 1987. She was a manager at a Bicycle Club Casino.

Since 1998, when her husband passed away, Alicia had been traveling back and forth between the Philippines and United States.

Alicia’s joy was spending time with her grandchildren. Family and friends from all over the world (Philippines, United States, and Canada) were deeply impacted by Alicia’s help and support. She was loving, sweet, and funny.

Private blessing of Alicia’s ashes and Celebrations of Life will be held in Saint Johns and Miami. Miami will be her final resting place, right beside her husband. Another Celebration of Life will be held in the Philippines in early 2025.
