Aida Luz Hernandez Torres

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Aida Luz Hernandez Torres, who left us on May 31, 2024 at the age of 74.

She was surrounded by her loving family and friends in her final moments. Our mother was a woman of immense humor and wisdom, cherishing every moment spent with her loved ones. Born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico on September 11, 1949, she loved gathering with family & friends, gardening, cooking, playing dominoes, dancing, and making memories filled with joy and laughter. She greeted everyone with a smile and never met a stranger. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mrs. Hernandez is predeceased by her parents, Eduardo Hernandez and Antonia Torres, sisters Dolores and Nilda, and brothers Francisco and Pedro. She is survived by her five children: Wanda Irizarry and husband Jerry Irizarry, Adsandro Santiago and wife Lerivette Ortiz, Mercy M. Santiago and husband Santos Fre, Jose A. Santiago and wife Maria Guzman, and Tamara Santiago; Eighteen grandchildren, Jeremy Irizarry and wife Angelica, Christopher J Irizarry, AdSandro Santiago, Adeny Santiago, Sandrivette Santiago and husband Hector J. Pagan, Felix A. Santiago, Ian A. Santiago, Zorimar Rosa and husband Pierre Lopez, Orlando Rosa Jr. and wife Brianna Rivera, Luisa Marie Santiago, Thalia Santiago, Nashaly Santiago, Eduardo Garcia, Antonio Velaquez, Angely Velaquez, Dereek Pascal Saint-Fleur; Eighteen great-grandchildren, Alexander L. Irizarry, Julian A. Irizarry, Levy J. Irizarry, Penelope Irizarry, Elijah Irizarry, Adeny Jaivious Santiago, Dylan Antonio Santiago, Juhanivette Pagan, Alanis Sofia, Izaiah Zapata, Taina Lopez, Pierre Lopez Jr., Orlando Rosa lll, Omar Rosa and Xavier Santiago , Gayson James Garcia, Kasim A. Velazquez, and Luca Parson; six siblings, Rafael Hernandez and wife Rosa M. Ortiz, Maria L Hernandez and Luis A. Rivera, Eduardo Hernandez and wife Aracelis, Ramon Hernandez and wife Carmen Burgos, Leonicia Hernandez and husband Efrain Delgado, and Nancy Hernandez; a sister-in-law, Lucy Delgado; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family relatives and friends who will miss her deeply.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Sunday, June 23, 2024, at 8:00 AM in Orocovis, Puerto Rico at San Juan Bautista Catholic Church.
