Carol Helene Divertie

A private celebration of life will be held for Carol Helene (Miller) Divertie on Saturday, November 13th, 3:00 pm, at her home in Jacksonville, Florida.

Mrs. Divertie, 80 of Jacksonville, died Sunday, November 07, in her home of cardiac arrest. Carol will be remembered for her devotion to family, her intellect and her wit.

Born October 08, 1930 in Dubuque, Iowa. Graduated from University of Iowa with a B.S. in Microbiology. Resided in Rochester, Minnesota for nearly 30 years raising her family. Moved to Jacksonville in 1993 to live near her grandchildren.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew B. Divertie, her parents, Claude and Dorothy Miller, and her brother, Bruce Miller.
Survivors include her brother, her sister-in-law, her three children and her four grandchildren. James (Gaby) Miller of Los Osos, CA. Shirley Miller of Colts Neck, NJ. Ian Divertie of Jacksonville and his son Matt. Gavin (Viky) Divertie of Jacksonville and their children Reed, Adrienne and Chase. Cameron (Dorene) Divertie of St. Paul, MN.

Carol was a skilled horsewoman, winning many awards in dressage, and developed an interest in horse-breeding. She loved music, especially opera. She sang in church choir throughout her lifetime. She dedicated nearly 35 years to providing opera education to children through her membership with the Twin Cities Opera Guild, serving as an Officer and Board Member.
