Brenda Diane Denny

d. October 14, 2010

Diane Denny went to be with the Lord on October 14,2010, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Ferriday, Louisianna, Diane grew up in nearby Clayton. In the 1960's she and her husband relocated to Alaska. It was in Juneau that her beautiful daughter, Melanie, was born. Many years later, in Soldotna, she met the love of her life, Lew Denny. In 1986 they moved to Tampa where Diane became a heartfelt Floridian. Six years later she and Lew settled in Jacksonville and it was there that she truly felt at home. She worked for many years at the Duval County Tax Office, retiring in 2004. That freedom provided Diane and Lew their many opportunities to travel extensively throughout the USA. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Lyda Mae Lazarus, her sister, Joel Wilkins, her brother-in-law, Charles Wilkins, and her niece, Donna Wilkins. Diane is survived by her husband of 27 years, Lewis Denny of Jacksonville, Florida, daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Charlie Goodwin of Wasilla, Alaska, daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Josh Cate of Jacksonville, granddaughters, Jaiden and Irelynn Cate, niece, Rena Gardner and her family of Soldotna, Alaska, and Diane's combined family, Alicia Bergeron, Robin Smith, Angela Denny, Andrea Hoffer and their respective families. This beautiful lady will be dearly missed by all of her family members and friends. A memorial service was held at 3:00 pm on Monday, October 18, 2010.
