John Robert Schneider, 67, Fruit Cove, Fl. left his loving family for eternity on October 6, 2010. Born and raised in Chesterfield, MO. John made Florida his home, living in Ft. Lauderdale then later in Fruit Cove. John was the son of the late Henry “Hap” and Elizabeth “Betty” Schneider and is survived by his devoted wife and son, Judith and Jeffrey, his sister Joyce Pierce, nieces Suzanne, Kathleen, and Christine, mother-in-law, Martha Burrell, sister-in-law Snulla Burrell and nephews Oli and Christian, and 12 great nieces and nephews.
John had a true passion for family; above all, John was absolutely devoted to his wife, Judith, and son, Jeffrey. He was a father who was always there for his son, while supporting, respecting, and loving his wife unconditionally. In addition, he had passions for cooking, boating, racing, and so many other things made him such a special person. He loved to watch the sunrise and sunset making the most of each day. He had a true appreciation of the outdoors and most recently loved to work in his orchid house nurturing and caring for the beauty of them. He was a very caring, compassionate, and sentimental person, sharing lifelong friendships, and always put the needs of others before his own. John was always a very descriptive and great story teller he would talk of his adventures and joys in his life to the enjoyment of those who knew him. It was the simple things around him in life that he never took for granted and he truly loved his home and family.
John was a true patriot serving in the US Army, had a love of country and was a true American. John fought his final battle with cancer with the truest grace and dignity. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the USO www.uso.org or call 1-800-876-7469. You will need to advise them it is in John’s memory and provide our address for acknowledgement.
A Celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date nearer to his beloved ocean.
Ever so appropriate was this statement from Jeffrey as we left the hospital leaving John at peace for the first time…. “Even though there is something missing… It is a Beautiful Day!”….and it truly was a beautiful day!
