Nina W. Coles

COLES- Nina White Coles, 75, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on September 17th, 2010. Nina was born in Nashville, Tennessee, daughter of Maggie Josephine Holland and Pressley Oakley White. In Nashville, Nina graduated from Litton High School and St Thomas School of Nursing. Nina married John Wilson Coles in 1957 and together they lived in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Birmingham, Alabama and Louisville, Kentucky prior to moving to Jacksonville in 1980. Nina and John were married thirty-four years.

A career registered nurse (RN), Nina worked in many different specialties, but she particularly enjoyed the challenges of operating room. In Jacksonville, Nina worked at Methodist Hospital (now Shands Jacksonville). A sister, Jo Ann Matthai, of Nashville, a daughter, Julie A. Coles, a son John P. Coles, and three grandchildren survive her.

Nina possessed a generous and creative spirit and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A service will be held on October 9th, 2010, at 1pm at the San Marco Preservation Hall, 1652 Atlantic Blvd, Jacksonville, Florida.
