Kathy Needham Shipman

Kathy Needham Shipman passed away September 11, 2010 in Jacksonville, FL in the loving arms of her family.

Kathy was born on January 26, 1945 in Alma, Michigan. She lived the early part of her life in Lansing, Michigan, and later moved to Jacksonville where she lived and enjoyed her life. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Shipman, parents Lester and Gertrude Needham, and sister Patricia Orihel.

Kathy is survived by her loving companion of 40 years, David Womack; loving sons Timothy (Teri) and Michael (Ruth); loving sister Sally Hakes (Bakersville, NC); loving brother Michael Needham (Lansing, MI); grandchildren Justin Shipman, Jacob Turner, Easton Smith, and Derrius Smith; great grandchildren Marley and Micah; and many other caring relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank all of her caregivers, including those at St. Luke's Hospital. The family is especially thankful for every single person at Community Hospice. We will be forever grateful.

Visitation will be held at the Community Hospice (Hadlow Center) on Sunbeam Road (casual dress is appropriate). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Community Hospice of Northeast FL.
