Elizabeth F. Rocher- Passed from our world 12 July, 2010 at the age of 85 into the arms of Our loving Lord. A great friend and caring mother, she will be missed by all.
Born December 7, 1925 to Kensil and Elizabeth Lillian Coster in Philadelphia, she grew up there and graduated HS. After HS she entered the US Marine Corps during World War II and was stationed at Paris Island, NC. She was very proud of her service and often said "Once and Marine, always a Marine". After her honorable discharge she married and had 2 children, moving to Jacksonville in the early 60's.
Days spent at the beach was a favorite pass time, with many hours of enjoyment spent swimming and enjoying the warm Florida sun. She also loved to camp with her family and was a good fisherman even baiting her own hook! Her love of the outdoors was a big influence on her children and will always be a part of their hearts and memories.
Preceded in death by Royce Rocher, she is survived by two sons, Larry and Raymond Williams, their wives Leslie and Donna, and three grandchildren, Jennifer, Stuart and Sarah.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate her life at 11 AM on Saturday July 17, 2010 at the Englewood Baptist Church, 5675 Kennerly Rd, Jacksonville FA 32207, Pastor Billy Jones. In lieu of flowers please send a donation to the Englewood Baptist Church.
