Willie Earl Sumner

Mr. W. Earl Sumner died peacefully in his sleep at the home of his daughter in Jacksonville, FL surrounded by his family on May 18, 2010 at the age of 73. Born in Appling County, GA on December 14, 1936. Grandson of the late Samual and Lily America Hilton and George and Jenny Sumner. Son of the late Doris and Lois Sumner. Brother of Larry Sumner of Savannah, GA and the late Samual Sumner. Father of Cheryl Sumner of Suwanee, GA, Julie Sumner Nissel (Paul) of Jacksonville, FL, Jeff Sumner (Stephanie) of Cuyahoga Falls, OH.
Grandfather of Alec and Savannah Nissel and Leigh and Davis Sumner.

Veteran of The United States Army, Air National Guard of Georgia, Reserve of the United States Air Force, and the Army National Guard. Proudly served as a Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation for over 30 years. After retirement from the FBI, Mr. Sumner continued his service to his country by working for the FBI's Background Investigation Contract Services Unit until the time of his death.

A memorial service was held at Bethel United Methodist Church in Baxley, GA on 21, 2010. Another memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, Cuyahoga Falls, OH on Friday June 24th at 4:00.
