Patricia Nord

Patricia Nord passed away Thursday, April 29, 2010. She was the daughter of Joseph and Miriam Fitzgerald. She was born in Muncie, Indiana but spent most of her life in Miami, Florida. She graduated from Ponce de Leon High School in Coral Gables and from Florida State University where she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. Following college, she married Richard Nord and they had four children. Patricia was a high school math teacher and Assistant Principal for Dade County Public Schools for many years. She also worked as the Principal at St. Louis Catholic Church Elementary school in Miami. She was life long member in the Catholic Church and an active member in many civic organizations, including the American Association of University Women, Soroptomist, Kendall Camera Club, Jacksonville Camera Club and Beaches Camera Club. She has been a resident of Jacksonville for almost two years and a member of the Cypress Village Community. Patricia is survived by her children, Jennifer Lange, Elizabeth Pierce (Anthony), Mary Nord and Joseph Nord (Suzanne), eight grandchildren (Lee and Erin Pierce; Patrick Lange; Jackson, Douglas and Mitchell Cheek; Samantha and Jake Nord), her brothers in law Robert Nord and Solon Ellmaker and nine nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, May 7th at St. Paul’s Catholic Church at 435 First Avenue North Jacksonville Beach FL 32250 at 11:00 a.m.
