Chester M. Stevens

Chester M. Stevens, 87, passed away on Sunday 31 January, 2010. A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, February 4, at Peace Presbyterian Church, 2300 Southside Boulevard, Pastor Mark Lemmenes officiating.

Born and raised in Illinois, he was a resident of Jacksonville since 1955. He was a veteran of WWII who spent most of his working years at Maxwell House downtown. He loved building things, working in his yard and fishing. He and his wife cared for his sick brother for 8 years, until he passed in 1981.

Left to mourn are his wife of 50 years Sarah (Nan) Stevens, sons Kurt Stevens (Cindy) and Gene Parsons, and sisters Grace Shimp (Eugene) and Shirley Hogue.

We will miss you.
