Ernette Douglas

DOUGLAS – Mrs. Ernette “Ernie” Douglas passed away Sunday, September 13, 2009 at the age of 68. She is survived by her husband Jim of 48 years; 2 children, Jimmy (Lesley) and Brian (Leigh); 7 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild; 2 sisters, Gloria Bushee and Jaye Phillips; nieces; nephews; and many Red Hat Society sisters. She volunteered in her community at her children’s and grandchildren’s schools, the church, senior centers and nursing homes. She was a Navy wife raising her two sons while her husband served their country for over 20 years. A Celebration of her life will be held Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 2:30 pm at Christ Church of Mandarin located at 6045 Greenland Road. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Community Hospice of NE Florida or Christ Church of Mandarin.
