William M Davis of Jacksonville, age 75, passed away on Friday, 27 Nov 2009, surrounded by his family and friends. Mr. Davis is survived by his three daughters; Terrie, Kathy and Laura, four grandchildren; Cody, Loren, Brittany and Kyle and his former wife Patricia.
Mr. Davis was born on 21 Nov 1934 in Danville, Kentucky. He was raised and lived the majority of his life in southern Louisiana. He was able to follow many dreams and embraced the experience of several careers. He attended Louisiana State University (LSU) but his patriotic duty led to his enlistment in the Army during the Korean War. He followed his tour in the Army with a time as a photographer. His career path led its way to a management position with Exxon Plastics where he remained until his retirement.
Mr. Davis had a true passion for flying. He made many friends flying ultralight, experimental and general aviation aircraft. He earned his private pilot's license and was working to achieve his instrument rating.
All of us, who loved Bill, know he is now at peace with the higher power who strengthened him throughout his life and will guide him into the next. Bill, your strength and smile will never fade from our memory.
Funeral services to be held at the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
