David Christopher Luevano, 67, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away peacefully on May 24, 2017, at Baptist Medical Center South with family close by his side.
David is survived by his wife Margaret, special granddaughter, Julia, sons Miguel (Cezi), Robin, daughter Abigail (Bill) Hamberg, sons Anthony (Kayla), Nicholas, & David Andres, sisters Stephanie (Louis) Korkames & Christina McDaniels, as well as many step-children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews & extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Augustine & Carmen Luevano & his niece, Victoria Korkames. David was born in Des Moines, IA.
He was a missionary for over 30 years, serving in South, Central, & North America. He dedicated much of his life since the young age of seventeen to missionary work & helping others. His Christian faith was an essential part of who he was. He enjoyed watching baseball & was an avid card collector. He also loved collecting coins. He enjoyed antiques & drawing & had a real talent for art. He had a sharp wit & wonderful sense of humor. He was known for his ability to make just about anybody laugh. He will be missed by all those that loved him.
