HAWMAN Melaine Hawman was born Melana Kimpanov, Jan. 13, 1923 in Banat, Serbia. She died July 29 at age 93 under the compassionate care of Community Hospice. Her parents, Tinka and Stanko Kimpanov with Melaine and her 2 sisters immigrated to Regina, Saskatchewan,. Canada in 1928. Melaine married Nigel Hawman there and moved to St. Petersburg, Florida with their 3 children in 1954. They drove down with no job and high hopes in a 1949 Studebaker. After a brief stay in St. Pete. they moved to Tampa and then to Jacksonville in 1964. She leaves behind her three children; Nigel Hawman-Joey, Yvonne Ucci-Walter, and Lainey Andrews-Sam, 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren,, and 3 great great grandchildren, as well as her 2 sisters, Yvonne Noble of Atlanta, and Ruby Gilbert of Windsor, Canada. Melaine loved dancing, entertaining at home, having English teas, and card parties. She was a Red Hatter, an Elks member, worked for Parrish Volvo, and JEA. Her memorial service is at her church Calvin Presbyterian, 4050 Barnes Rd, Jacksonville, at 3pm Tuesday, Aug. 2nd She was an elegant lady, a wonderful Mother and Mijka, and is loved by many.
