Chelsea E. Hamlett, 26, of Jacksonville, FL, died May 29, 2016 as a result of complications from Cystic Fibrosis. She was born May 8,1990 in Tallahassee, the daughter of Timothy Hamlett and Hollie Riviere Hamlett Miller and step daughter of Mark Miller. She attended Keystone Heights Junior-Senior High School in Clay County and Lee High School in Duval County where she received her diploma. She also attended Florida State College Jacksonville when her health allowed.
Chelsea was gifted a double lung transplant on December 13, 2012 at Mayo Hospital in Jacksonville and was granted the opportunity to “breathe easy” for a short portion of her life.
Chelsea is preceded in death by her brother Terry Hamlett. She is survived by her parents Tim Hamlett and Hollie Hamlett Miller, her step father Mark Miller, her brother Conner Hamlett of Jacksonville, step brothers Alan Miller of Jacksonville and Tyler Miller of Camilla, Ga and her step sister Jessica Miller of Hannibal, MO. She also leaves her great- grandmother Esther Riviere of Jacksonville, maternal grandparents Walter and Nancy Riviere of Melrose, FL, and her paternal grandmother Mary Hamlett of St Augustine, FL. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends and her beloved ChiWeenie, Mary Jane Hamlett Holladay Foster (MJ).
She was an inspiration to many and a true fighter. Always witty and sarcastic and a true friend to most all she met.
A memorial service will be held at Riverside Baptist Church, 2650 Park Street, Jacksonville, FL 32204 on June 5th at 12:45. Please join us for lunch after the service in the fellowship hall. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
