Werner Jake Mueller

Beloved husband, brother and uncle, Werner Jake Mueller died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, May 7, 2016. He was 87 years young, and will be lovingly remembered for his unending kindness, generosity of spirit, positive outlook and for being the life of the party.

Werner was a Navy combat veteran who served four years in the Korean War. Following military service, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at St. Louis University and enjoyed a successful career as an engineer.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Elfriede; brother Henry (Irma); brother-in-law Rudy Wiegel (Hedda); nieces Barbara Steffek (Bob), Patricia Brunet (Tom), Suzanne Townsend (Clay), Tina Wiegel (Stefan); nephews Robert Mueller, Thomas Mueller (Celeste), Andy Mueller (Julie), Dan Mueller; as well as other nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.

The family is especially grateful to Northeast Florida Community Hospice and their amazing staff.

A small, private memorial ceremony will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery at a later date.
