Christopher “Snoop” DeGross passed away unexpectedly March 9, 2016 in Jacksonville, FL at the young age of 27.
Chris is survived by his devoted grandmother, Janis Ethridge; parents, Erin DeGross, Jacksonville, FL and Dennis Williams, Miami FL; daughter Nakiya (Lindsay Medlin) DeGross; siblings Jerrod Paul (Kristen Kollor) DeGross and Anthony “Nick” Green, all of Jacksonville, FL. Aunts Misty DeGross, Aimee (JJ) Johnson; Uncles Joel DeGross, Jacksonville FL; and John(Terri) DeGross, of Orlando FL. Cousins Clarence “PJ” Richmond, Makayla and Hannah Johnson, Austin and Zachary DeGross, Alexander (Tiffany) Rice. Nieces Amiya Richmond, Amelia Kollor, Isabella DeGross; nephews Kaiden DeGross, Drayden Westheimer, and Jeremiah Richmond, along with many loyal lifelong friends and their children.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather Lee DeGross; Uncle David Livingston; aunt, Patricia DeAngelis; and dear friend Christina-Marie Diglio.
Chris was born on February 23, 1989 in Marietta Georgia to his loving mother Erin DeGross and father Dennis Williams. He was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville and earned his high school diploma from Marine Science Center in 2007. At the age of 16, Chris began working for the family business, Cleaning Techs Inc., founded by his uncle Joel and grandmother Janis Ethridge. He leaves behind the love of his life, his pride and joy, 21 month-old Nakiya Renee and her mother Lindsay Medlin.
Known as “Snoop” to a vast majority, his magnetic personality resonated throughout. Notorious for his smirk and beautifully piercing eyes, Chris captured many people’s hearts instantaneously. Over the course of his non-stop, adventurous life, he created an empire of happiness, loyal friendships, compassion and hospitality. An all around leader, wherever his preserves lead him, a good time was had with him as captain, whether at work or any given celebration. He loved all children and was a father figure to many before having his own; always encouraging, inspiring but most of all showing his unconditional love for each.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, March 19th at 1pm at Isle of Faith United Methodist Church, Jacksonville, FL 32224, Pastor Todd Lamphere of Orlando will officiate the ceremony. The family would like to thank all who have provided prayers, comfort and compassion during this difficult time.
