Sarah Margaret Lowe Rattè

June 24, 1938 — March 4, 2016

Sarah "Sally" Margaret Lowe Ratte' passed away peacefully in Orange Park Florida with her daughter
Cheryl Bennington and her family by her side on March 4, 2016. Sarah was born on June 24, 1938 to
Robert Sr.and Sarah Lowe in Lowell Massachusetts.
Sarah was the second eldest sibling of seven. Bob Lowe, Barbara Bovill, Sheila Sullivan, Norman Lowe ,
and Ronnie Lowe. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Sarah Lowe and her sister
Robin Lowe Mullin.
Sarah was a dedicated military wife who was stationed in several New England towns but settled in
Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1974. She raised four daughters, Cheryl Bennington of Orange Park Florida,
Donna Zaccagnini, Karen Cornell and Rhonda Baugh. Her greatest love and pride was her grandchildren
Sean Bennington, Kristen Bennington, Taylor Bennington, Heidi Cavallo, Cassie Marsh, Michael Culp,
Jennifer Howery, Jake Daniels and Sarah Baugh. She loved attending her grandchildren's sporting events
where a lot of their friends would know she was present, cheering them on with the well-known
whistle ! And even greater joy were her ten great-grandchildren, Nathan, Katie, Elijah, Ashlyn, William,
Brianna , Mason, Grace and Gwen and Parker. She could not be prouder and adored being called "Gigi"
Sarah retired from the Virginia Beach school system. Her passions were the three F's, Faith, family and
football. New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox.
As a devout Catholic and parishioner of Saint Gregory's in Virginia Beach The family will be having a
celebration of life on April 2, 2016 in Virginia Beach Virginia.
