Rene Gibson Pollard

Rene Gibson Pollard (1918-2016) Rene, or Mimi, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 21, 2016. She was strong, spiritual, intelligent, generous, and fun-loving -- a fiercely independent Southern lady who lived 97 incredible years and saw all corners of the world. She will be missed greatly by her daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Ed Mims of Jacksonville, FL, her two grandchildren and their spouses (Nancy Mims and Rodney Gibbs of Austin, TX; Andy and Lisa Mims of Dedham, MA) and her four great-grandchildren (Clara and Atticus Gibbs, Addie and Walker Mims). Rene touched and inspired many people: her friends and neighbors, those she knew in her early years as a Naval officer's wife, fellow members of South Jacksonville Presbyterian Church, and the people she served in her 40 years in real estate. She led an amazing life, and looked forward to joining her loving husband, Andy, in heaven. A family memorial service will be held in Auburn, Alabama.
