Robert "Bob" Bengis

Robert “Bob” Bengis passed away on October 24, 2015, at the age of 76. Bob was born in New York City on December 9, 1938, to Lester and Betty Bengis, both now deceased. He is survived by his sister and best friend, Irene Mortensen, his nephew John Mortensen, his niece Kathy Anderson (Bobby), his niece Kristen Kirchner (Jason), his great-nephew Kaiden, his great-niece Amora, his brother-in-law Jack Mortensen and many close cousins from up North. He also leaves behind his dear friends from New York; Murray Hill United Methodist Church; Canterbury Gardens; and Publix on Normandy Blvd. Bob proudly served in the U. S. Army. He relocated to Jacksonville in 1980 with his dad. Bob loved boxing and the “great New York Yankees”. He was an avid fisherman. His loving family will miss him very much.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, November 7 at 2pm at Murray Hill United Methodist Church, 4101 College St. (corner of Edgewood and College).
