Janice A. Fitzgerald (Argraves) 85, of Jacksonville, Florida, died peacefully on April 22, 2015.
She was the wife of the late Robert Fitzgerald and beloved mother of children Robert, Janice P. (Carol Crosby), William (Elaine) and Susan Pryor (Roger).
She was also survived by grandchildren Jennifer Petrus (Adam) and Tyler Fitzgerald. Janice was great grandmother to Olivia Petrus.
Her brother Lawrence Argraves survives her in Milford, Connecticut.
Janice was the daughter of the late Clara (Durepo) and Newman Argraves.
Born in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, she spent her childhood between Boston, Massachusetts and Woodbridge, Connecticut.
A talented artist, she was trained at Vesper George School of Art in Boston, Massachusetts. Painting and visual arts were her life long enjoyment.
During her marriage, to husband Bob, she moved her young family between Massachusetts, South Carolina, Ohio, and Connecticut, finally settling in Western Pennsylvania.
More than anything, Janice enjoyed spending time with her children. After her husband passed in 1981, she relocated to Florida to be near her daughters and start a new chapter in her life story. She enjoyed the long gardening season Florida offered. She also was passionate about her pets and animal protection issues.
A memorial service is to be held Sunday, May 2, 2015, at 3 PM in the Beaches Historic Chapel, 381 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville Beach, Florida 32250.
