Laurie Anne Insel

Laurie Anne Insel, age 43, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015 surrounded by family in the comfort of her home in St. Johns, Florida.

Laurie may have lost her battle with cancer but won in life by living with incredible determination, hope, strength and graceful dignity. Even while enduring various chemo and radiation treatments Laurie remained an active part of her children's daily lives and showed them love and courage which are life long values that will always inspire them. Laurie was born in Vermont on March 2, 1972. She graduated from Burlington High School, then achieved her degree at Johnson and Wales University. Laurie met her loving husband, Mark Insel in Stowe, VT. They later moved to Jacksonville, FL where Laurie worked as a Project Manager at Everbank.

Laurie is survived by her husband, Mark Insel and their two sons, Connor and Grady. She is also survived by her mother Darlene Hubacher and step-father David Bissonnette, her father Kenneth Hubacher and step-mother Pamela Hubacher, her sister Amy Leo and brother-in-law Bruce Leo, and her sister Jessica Hubacher. Her mother-in-law Lynn Henderson, father-in-law Joseph Insel, sister-in-law Valerie Brefka, and many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, step-siblings, and close friends. Laurie loved spending time with her family and friends, going to the beach, cooking, bikram yoga, and listening to music. She was a fantastic listener and always had a sense of humor. If you had the privilege of knowing her than you experienced her generous and caring nature, as well as her powerful yet humble strength. Laurie truly inspired all of us to be our best selves, and her spirit will live on through each and every one of us.

A celebration of life will be held in Laurie's honor on June 27th at the beach in South Ponte Vedra, FL. All are welcome to attend. Further details will follow.
