Charles R. Deck

Charles R. Deck of Jacksonville, Florida passed away Thursday, February 26th in Orange ParK Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana on February 18, 1925 to Charles R. and Pauline Deck. He met his wife on Kingsley Avenue in Orange Park in July of 1946. They married in August of 1947 and had five children. He was an avid pilot and pursued a career in aviation. He liked to say if you have a career doing something you love then you will never work a day in your life. He retired in 1990 from General Parts as their Chief Pilot and spent his remaining years engaged in general aviation. He leaves behind his wife of 67 years Harolyn Deck, daughter Gail Cook, son Gary Deck, son Michael Deck and his wife Patricia, daughter Sharon Hensley and her husband Jerry, daughter Terri Minwer and her husband Jack, 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, brothers Ben Deck and Jim Deck and his beloved puppydog Shelby.
