Steven Craig Goodwin

February 20, 1952 — February 2, 2015

Steven Craig Goodwin, 62, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on February 2, 2015 at the Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring, Community Hospice in Jacksonville. He was born in Hodgenville, KY on February 20, 1952, to parents Jimmie Lee and Catheryn Martin Goodwin. Steve grew up in Cookeville, TN, and was a graduate of Cookeville Central High School. He was senior class president and played football and baseball. Steve attended Tennessee Tech University for several years. He moved to Florida in 1980, where he worked for Feed and Seed Center delivering pet supplies throughout the Southeast. In 1981, Steve met Lisa Moriconi. They were married in April of 1984. Steve was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Mandarin. He enjoyed shooting pool, motorcycling, music, and loved to cook – especially for his wife, Lisa. Steve thoroughly enjoyed people and would strike up a conversation with anybody. Like his father, he was a stranger to no one. He was a very unselfish person with a huge heart. Steve loved his church and the congregation. It was a very important part of his life. Steve also loved his family dearly, was close to his brother and cousins on both sides of the family, and his in-laws. Steve is survived by his wife, Lisa; her sisters Holly Moore, in Florida, and Marcy Schrank, in Michigan; his brother and sister in law, Jimmie and Patty Goodwin, in Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews on both sides of the family. A memorial service will be held on February 7th, at 6pm at the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Mandarin. Services will be conducted by Pastor Juan Rodriguez.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Way (center for the homeless).
Checks can be made out to “The Way”, and sent to: Mandarin Seventh Day Adventist Church 10911 St. Augustine Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257
