Betty Ann Crews

August 11, 1944 — January 27, 2015

Betty Ann Crews - Jacksonville, FL - Passed away January 27, 2015 after a long battle with Parkinson's.

Born in Blackshear Georgia and found in a pea patch on August 11, 1944, Betty was destined to live an extraordinary life. She knew early on she was different. And so she began, changing the world…one person at a time.

An avid dreamer, writer and poet, Betty penned the book Just Love Me, an award winning compilation of poems describing her unique perspective on life, love and the pursuit of happiness. She often used her poignant words to comfort the unloved or unwanted, and open the hearts and minds of countless non-believers.
Well known to Jacksonville's medical community, Betty served and saved many lives as a respiratory therapist for over 30 years. Her compassion, imagination and ability to reach those that others had given up on, proved on many occasions to be the spark that brought them back to their loved ones.

She will be remembered for her infectious smile, quick wit, minute vacations and "the happy dance".

She is survived by her daughter, Christina Dyer (Eric), grandchildren Karen Dayes (Caleb), Ryan Marsh, great-grandchild Gabriel Dayes, friends Robin Daniels and Misty DeGross (Patricia), along with many, many cherished friends.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2015, 1:00pm at Mandarin Community Club, 12447 Mandarin Road, Jacksonville, FL 32223. A reception immediately following the service will be held at The Terrace of Jacksonville’s Center Courtyard, 10680 Old St. Augustine Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32257.

Betty's family would like to thank the many caregivers and staff at The Terrace of Jacksonville (Southlake Nursing & Rehab) for the loving care and encouragement for the past four years. Your dedication and devotion will never be forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson’s Research Foundation. http://parkinsonhope.org/
