Ida Mae Buckler

September 15, 1925 — October 5, 2014

Ida Goss Buckler, 89, went home to be with the Lord on October 5, 2014 from injuries sustained in a pedestrian accident on her morning walk to the beach. She was born in Louisville, Ky. to Charles Martin Goss and Henrietta Lichtefeld. She worked for Pitney Bowes in Jacksonville and Dr. Bahdri Mehrota in St. Augustine. Ida attended St. Anastasia Parish and was an avid volunteer. She served as president of the St. Anastasia Ladies Association and received the Good Samaritan Award in 2012. She volunteered with Friends of the Library and was involved with homeless organizations. Ida will always be known for her big heart, helping hand, generous spirit and love of cooking for others. She was a true disciple of Christ, living out her faith every day. Ida is predeceased by her parents, husband, Robert Leo Buckler, and sisters Mary Duvall and Alice Ransdell. She is survived by her daughters, Monica (Larry) Murr and Mary Holmes, grandchildren, Chris Conder, Josh and Sam Murr, 2 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends. Services will be held November 13th 9:00am at St. Anastasia Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Anastasia Branch of Friends of the Library and Wildflower Clinic Homeless Services.
