James T. Campbell, Jr.

James T. Campbell Jr., age 68, passed away on September 10th, 2014. He was born July 20th, 1946, in Philadelphia, PA. He lived in Jacksonville, FL from the age of three months, graduating from Forrest High School and Jacksonville University. He was an amazing son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He was, and always will be, an inspiration to hundreds of students at duPont and Mandarin HS. He introduced many people to a love of history and the outdoors and was a mentor and faithful friend. He was a man that journeyed through life and all across America with the joyful Christ by his side and took every step with passion and love, “Keepin’ the Faith.”

He is preceded in death by his parents James T. Campbell Sr. and Kay Stegers Campbell. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Evalyn Nesmith Campbell; daughters Kris Campbell (Mark Creegan) and Keri Campbell Hutcheson (Paul); grandchildren Riley and Paige Hutcheson; and sisters, Carol Sapp and Barbara Eaton.

A memorial service will be held at Faith United Methodist Church, 4000 Spring Park Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32207 on September 13th at 1:30 p.m. with a time of fellowship to follow.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faith United Methodist Church or the Appalachian Trail Conservancy.
